So, winter break is near, that means progress report. Last year I made some suggestions to better assist me in helping my child with his goals and skills. I want to share some with you. Ok, so the old form was hard to understand where my son was..... mainly percentages. So, I asked if she could include what level he was at during group on independent work time( I listed the subjects),also someone suggested to me, what curriculum was used. The teacher used my suggestions and created sections.... example: behavior, social skills, life skills etc with the goal/ skill checkbox next it marked *mastered or working on it. Then a place for comments. Communication is KEY. I worked with my teacher in creating a report that will not only tell me what areas my son has mastered, but what he’s perhaps missing, and what is needed for the next level. This gave me a better picture of his progression.
